Brown Pelicans are along almost all major coastlines and known the world over. They are actually still on the endangered species list where they were once endangered from the effects of DDT. The DDT was absorbed by the fish in the water table and the birds that these fish could not lay hard shelled eggs and led to the demise of almost all the Brown Pelicans. They have made a great recovery and hopefully will be taken off the list.
